Each number attributes to a tracing of holes on each leaf. Each number relates to between one to four markings, which represent the number of holes on the leaf which is being traced by a black pen.

The bottom left corner of the first sheet is marked by pen scribbles and lines which shows an interference with the pens ink in the process.

The second page ends with a description of the artists rule 'each cell is generally contained within six cells' along with a drawn square representing the size of six cells. Behind the ā€˜Nā€™ In generally is tipex, showing a removal of something that was there before.
